We have exciting news! Our development application submitted in August last year to build a guest house and new temple at Canyonleigh has just been approved by Wingecarribee Council. Our architect Sita (Christina Kim from Melinz Kim architects) is now preparing the documents so we can get our construction certificate and start to build. Amma gave us the plans for Kamala Nivaas, the guest house in which we stay when in Peedam. We plan to build an Australian version of that building, based on sacred geometry and environmentally sustainable techniques of building and conservation of water and energy.
It is approaching the end of the financial year, so what a good time to be looking at making tax-deductible donations into our Building Fund. Every bit will help, and if you know any corporations or philanthropists who would like to support the cause of peace through illumination of consciousness, do let them know about this project so they can contribute as well.
Tax-deductible receipts are provided for all donations over $2.
It is our vision to create a kind of Australian Findhorn, where the relationship between humans, plants and spirituality can be explored in our unique setting, bringing in elements of multi-faith spirituality, Aboriginal awareness of the land and our rich practices of mantra, puja, discourses, great music and the opportunity to explore new ways to hold peace, even under pressure. The foundation of the garden is the organic farming which saw thousands of fruit and nut trees being planted, and a seed repository for every kind of apple tree that will grow in the Southern Highlands. It is a real, beautiful and unique treasure.
Please let everyone know about this project. We are also pursuing a construction certificate for the yurt replacement building in Cooranbong, with some changes being made to other buildings in the existing development approval and we will be making a start on that project as well.
Exciting times!! And how auspicious to be part of the construction of temples and an institution dedicated to teaching skills for peace.
With lots of love from Shakti Durga and all at Shanti Mission
