Lent is the 40 days and 40 nights leading up to the sacred mysteries of Easter. This is a time where Christians have traditionally fasted, made sacrifices and engaged in various forms of purification.
In most traditions spiritual aspirants have engaged in abstinence programs or Tapas to strengthen their focus, tenacity and Divine connection.
From 5 March to 17 April, you are urged to choose something that you resort to for emotional support or that your ego pulls you into which is not great and would be better if it was not part of your every day.
Is it harder to meet all the ego’s demands or deny just one?
Examples of abstinence might be: fasting on certain days or for certain hours: refraining from eating sugar, giving up coffee, eating 3 meals per day, not watching TV, foregoing reading fiction, giving up alcohol for lent, refraining from blame or angry outbursts, refraining from becoming stuck in negative judgments and so on.
When we ‘give something up for lent’ it is a deliberate attempt to surrender into the Divine embrace, replenishing ourselves through prayer, meditation, spiritual practice and kindness to others.
Doing this together creates a group strength which will help all those who participate to reap the benefits.
We also suggest that you ‘seed’ for your success. On this occasion we would use the seeding practice of giving to support not just your own success, but the success of the group.
You can seed HERE, put “seeding” in the Notes field at checkout. Or by bank transfer, please use the reference ‘Seeding’ to:
