After a 6-week odyssey with Sri Sakthi Amma and Yogiraj Amar Jyoti in India, I am back in Australia for a short time, and hoped to share some of the energy of this cosmic experience.
This was probably one of my most spectacular spiritual adventures so far. After spending an initial week in Peedam with Amma, and running a ten day retreat in Palampur with Swamiji, Swamiji took me on a yatra in South India. A yatra is a pilgrimage to sacred places. We were up at 4am most mornings to greet an excited Avatar, eager for the next adventure. From accidentally swimming in the ocean at Kanyakumari, the very tip of the country (accidentally for us, totally orchestrated by Swamiji) to having the water of 22 sacred wells tipped on us in one of the many ancient temples we visited, my heart kept bursting further and further open with joy and with infinite, limitless love.
I experienced other ashrams in Pondicherry and then returned to Peedam, for a rich soak in the bliss of the Goddess and Amma’s love.
The themes of my pilgrimage this year were surrender, actionless action and fearlessness. It wasn’t all joy and mung beans (or in my case, dahl) but also deep churns, facing some of the ways my ego has gripped onto various beliefs about who I am and how I show up in the world. One of the big realisations was how joyful surrender truly is – to give ourselves fully into the keeping of our souls, and to allow all of us, our strengths and our weaknesses to be made use of by the Divine.
On the 30th of April, I will be at the Harmony Centre, starting with the 10.30am Satsang then an Energy of India session – with stories, discourse, meditation and blessings on these themes. Also broadcast via Zoom.
I look forward to seeing you there! Love Gayatri xx
